Needle Felting Workshop | June 20

Kids and adults join us for a very cute needle felting workshop. When Kelley came a few months back, we filled the room! Sign up now for your seat at the table to make this very cute Puffin. This workshop is $40 and comes with the kit. If you you came last time, you can join us again for only $25 (kit price). This class is open to kids (8+) and adults... kids need to be accompanied by an adult!

"Laughing Wild" Performance and Fundraiser | July 17 - August 1

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off, Paper Shredding, Clothing andTextiles! Residents may bring up to 50 pounds of products labeled toxic, flammable, reactive, corrosive, or poisonous, such as: oil-based paint, motor oil, pesticides, solvents, glues, bleach or ammonia-based cleaners, weed killers, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, tires, propane tanks, car batteries, and used motor oil. Materials will be safely disposed of free of charge.

Paper Shredding will be available at this location. Residents may bring up to 20 boxes of paper to be shredded and recycled

Electronics are not accepted. Televisions and Computer monitors are collected curbside by appointment.  Call 617-635-4500 or online at www.cityofboston.gov/recycle to schedule.

No commercial waste will be accepted.! **Proof of residency required!

No Latex/Acrylic paint allowed!

"Dorchester Rising Stars" Benefit Concert | June 27

Tony Rymer, a native of Ashmont Hill in Dorchester, MA, began playing cello at age five and is a graduate of the Walnut Hill Arts School in Natick, Massachusetts. Tony was a prize winner in the Longy School of Music and New England Conservatory preparatory concerto competitions, the New England String Ensemble competition, and was a finalist in the Stulberg International String Competition in 2008. Tony has studied with Yo-Yo Ma in addition to performing in master classes for artists including Anner Bylsma, Jaime Laredo, and Pieter Wispelwey. Tony attends the New England Conservatory in Boston and studies with Paul Katz as the recipient of the Laurence Lesser Presidential Scholarship. Tony has appeared as a soloist with several orchestras including Nashville Symphony, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, and several others.

Phuong-Nghi Pham began piano lessons at the age of five in Vietnam and moved to the United States with her parents in 2004. She studied piano at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, most recently with Heng-Jin Park, as the John C. Holtz Ambassador Award Recipient of the Max Reger Foundation of America. Phuong-Nghi appeared on From the Top at Jordan Hall (2010) and at Calderwood Hall (2014). She is a Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist and Young Scholar. As a two-time Prizewinner of the Fidelity Investments Young Artists Competition, she performed with the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall in 2011 and 2012. She won the 2013 New England Conservatory Concerto Competition and performed with the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at Jordan Hall. Having graduated from Boston Latin School, Phuong-Nghi is now a freshman at Amherst College, attending as a QuestBridge National College Match Recipient and a Jack Kent Cooke College Scholar. She currently studies piano with Alissa Leiser.
