CTK Dorchester's 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt | April 4

Several thousand Easter eggs filled, multiple Easter baskets ready to be raffled off, and an Easter story ready to be told. 

Come out to Ronan Park with your friends, family, or neighbors (everybody's welcome!) for a community celebration!

This event is free and open to the public. 

We will start promptly at 10am - don't come late and miss all the fun (and candy!).

Celebrate the season with Boston Baroque's acclaimed interpretation of this holiday classic. Enjoy the "Hallelujah Chorus" and other beloved arias and choruses in a 90-minute, festive program. Boston Baroque's recording of "Messiah" was nominated for a Grammy Award and has been heard by millions of listenrs across the globe.  Hear it for yourself - LIVE!

Lower Mills Holiday Stroll | Nov 20

The kick off with the Tree Lighting is at 5:30 pm in front of Meetinghouse Bank. Join the Brass Ensemble and the Elizabeth Seton Girls’ Choir for a musical ceremony. Goodie bags, hot chocolate and candy canes will be provided by Meetinghouse.  Stop by ester to pick up totes and maps. Carney Hospital will be providing flu shots at the bank, and the trolley will start from St. Greg’s. Santa, balloon artists, warm cider and wine tastings will all be there, along with, new this year, pony rides at City Legends Barbers and live music on the ester patio with heaters flaring and blankets for the asking.

Raffles this year include 6 turkeys provided by STAR Supermarkets, and a health wise basket from Milton Acupuncturist.

Wind down the evening at Standish Village who will be celebrating 20 years in Lower Mills with a huge cake, champagne, strawberries and a harpist.

1st Annual Open House Wreath Stroll | Dec 4

Please join Kit Clark Senior Services as they celebrate the holidays. Enjoy pastries as you stroll Kit Clark Senior Services and view a wide array of wreaths decorated by elected officials and local sponsors. Choose your favorite wreath, make a bid and take it home. The proceeds from every wreath sold will benefit the prgorams and services provided by Kit Clark.

Mom & Kid Ride | June 14

An easy-paced, off-street ride for women and kids!
11:00 Registration, bike decorating and face painting
12:00 Ride departs
1:00 Picnic and ice cream party

Lunch available for purchase at the Franklin Park Club House (cash only). Free kids' mac & cheese or hot dog with every $6 purchase. Complimentary JP Licks ice cream for all participants.

After the ride, enjoy an optional excursion to the Franklin Park Zoo -- the first 100 people to register will receive one free kids' pass to the zoo (adult ticket purchase required). Helmets required for all participants. No training wheels please! Mom and kids are welcome to invite the men in their lives.

Dorchester Bike Festival | April 27

Join the Dorchester Bike Festival on Saturday April 27, 2014 from 9am to noon.
Location: Pedal & Park Bike Parking Facility on Dorchester Avenue by the Ashmont T Station

Breakfast will be provided!

Timeline:

9am-11am - enjoy some free breakfast and get to know the Ashmont Pedal & Park facility, which enables commuters to park their bikes before catching buses and trains at the Ashmont T Station. There will be free bike tune-ups and family friendly activities to raise awareness about safe bicycling practices. You can also enter to win prizes.

Free Flu Clinic | December 12

Codman Square Health Center is offering a free public flu clinic to the community on Thursday, December 12 from 1pm to 4pm.

 

The flu clinic is in partnership with the Boston Public Health Commission and is being run in honor of National Influenza Vaccination Week.

Victoria's Diner Celebration | Nov. 8

Join Percival Beer Company at a free event Friday night at Victoria's Diner. The event will celebrate the contribution of Victoria Diner towards the city of Boston. The diner has been around since 1949! Also, to celebrate the introduction of Dot Ale 1630 and Kompadre Lager at Victoria's Diner.
 
There will be free (generous) beer samples, a red carpet photo op, gift bags, free aps, live music and various photographic displays of Boston's landscape.

Self Defense Classes | Sept 11-Oct 24

Healthworks Fitness Centers for Women are offering free self-defense classes throughout the Boston area during September and October, including 3 in Dorchester.

 

In partnership with the Boston Centers for Youth & Familiesthe Boston Police DepartmentHealthworks Community Fitness and IMPACT, a unique personal safety and self-defense curriculum, these complimentary 90 minute training sessions will be open to all women in the area.
