As director of Youth In Crisis, I would like to inform
you about my organization and ask for your support for our upcoming
special event.  The 3rd Annual Food for Thought Cookout will be held at
Walker’s Park

Youth In Crisis is a non-profit organization dedicated
to help youth who are in danger of becoming victims to violence and the
other pitfalls that often confront them.  Many of our young people,
particularly the young men, are at the point of becoming an endangered
species. Youth In Crisis has worked hard to help de-escalate gang
violence, misdemeanor crime, drug abuse and domestic violence through
intervention and prevention. We are also advocates for troubled youth
in the schools and court system. Current work focuses on increased
neighborhood safety, outreach to youth, street patrols to talk to youth
who are hanging out and invite them into youth groups, and identifying
funding to increase our impact.

Youth In Crisis needs donations, resources and your
support to help make the 3rd Annual Food for Thought Cookout  a
success.  The Food for Thought Cookout has always been a day of fun,
games and togetherness for our surrouding communities and a opporunity
to promote unity and  the concept that we really are all one big
family.  As a supporter of this vital mission you will have signed on
to help shape and mold the minds of many young people who need our
help.  We have considerable success up to this point but know that we
can extend our reach and do more if we are able to reach out to people
who want to help us make a positive cjange in our neighborhoods and
save our children

We want to tell you about a big event upcoming this summer, and to ask for your help in promoting it.
Our neighborhood will host a Music
Concert in Dorchester Park, featuring Boston's Landmarks Orchestra
under the direction of conductor Charles Ansbacher. The Boston
Landmarks Orchestra is one of only two professional orchestras in the
country whose mission is to perform all free concerts. Over 160,000
people have attended more than 125 concerts during the past seven years.
The Landmarks Orchestra utilizes some of the finest
musicians in Boston to help create a vibrant cultural scene all summer
long, including summer-long Wednesday night concerts at the Hatch Shell
on the Charles River. Now that we have arranged to have our own local
performance in Dot Park, it surely will add to the seasons enjoyment
for scores of local residents.
We are proud to serve as co-chair of the Dorchester Host
Committee, and it is my hope that upwards of a thousand neighbors will
join us in Dot Park for the concert, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. We
are hoping that you will agree to join with us in hosting this event.
As a member of the Host committee, we ask two simple steps:
1.- tell your employees and customers about this wonderful event, and encourage them to attend;
2.- sponsor the concert, it is that easy- no meetings to attend, just help us promote this unique attraction for the community. Sponsors are asked to contribute amounts of $500 or
$1000, and we are seeking just 20 local businesses to join us in
support. All donations are fully tax deductible.

For questions or comments, please call Ed
at 617-834-7577 or Bill at 617-851-9630.

Start: 6:30 pm
End: 9:00 pm
