Are you looking for something to break up your work day that
will allow you to give back to your community? The 2008-2009 academic school
year will be here soon and Boston Partners in Education is looking for
volunteers to tutor and mentor Boston
Public School students.
You don’t need any previous tutoring experience to participate—just a
willingness to work with students and help them reach for their highest
potential!

Our volunteers work with one student during the school day
and in some after school and Saturday morning programs for one hour (or more)
each week. Opportunities are available in all grades, K-12, in the areas of
math and literacy. During the application process, we provide training in
mentoring and tutoring, as well as a personal interview and a reference check
to ensure a successful experience.

To register, visit www.bostonpartners.org
and complete the volunteer registration form (click on “For Volunteers” then on
“Registration Form”). For more information, please contact Hillary Chazen,
Recruitment Manager, at (617) 451-6145 or hillary_chazen@bostonpartners.org.

Start: 7:00 am
End: 7:30 am

Good news - there is a farmers market somewhere in Dorchester, sometimes more than one, on almost every day of the week this summer!

Check out the Dorchester Enviro Calendar for dates, times and locations! www.mydorchester.org/user/266

or stop by and ask at the DEHC Fields Corner office at 1452 Dorchester Ave, 4th floor.

Start: 10:30 am
End: 3:30 pm

Please make sure you RSVP to Marlena at ACE (marlena@ace-ej.org) or
by calling Mishon at 617.442.3343 x234 so that we have enough food and
materials for everyone.

REEP has reserved a room for all the
BYEN members to gather and get to know each other that afternoon. As
part of this effort, we are asking that each group be prepared to do a
5-10 minute presentation of what they do. It could be a piece of a
workshop, a skit demonstrating some of your work....whatever your
creative minds decide! Be prepared to share, dialogue and network.

See you at the Summit and don't forget to RSVP!
