The Dorchester Youth Council went out to the Boston Day and Evening Academy on November 8, 2007. George Martinez was talking to a dozens of kids about being civically engaged but he spoke with a universal language almost everyone knows, no matter the age: Hip Hop.

The kids were intrigued. Later on, George rapped a song and had audience clapping along with him. Although it was an hour long, he spent time to talk to majority of the young people and took a couple of pics with them. The council enjoyed George. "I wouldn't have come to something like this without SCI" a council member, Jeanie said.
