This past Saturday, May 10 ^th the DotWell Teen Center hosted The 84 Art Exhibit to celebrate the activities teens choose to participate in rather than using tobacco. A reporter from the Boston Globe's City Weekly attended the event and was impressed by teens' creativity and eloquence in describing their involvement with The 84, a new anti-smoking initiative funded by the Massachusetts Tobacco Control Program of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and managed by The Medical Foundation. The Teen Center was awarded grant money to promote the fact that 84% of MA teens do not use tobacco through street outreach and a creative health education project. Teens created art projects to convey their interests and reasons for abstaining from tobacco use. Please look for an article in next Sunday's City Weekly about our successful event.
