Ashmont Nursery School is a non-profit, non-sectarian, parent-run
cooperative preschool for children aged 2.9 (as of September 1) to 5.
The school is dedicated to fostering exploration, play, and the
lifelong love of learning. Under the guidance of and in partnership
with our certified teachers, ANS provides an environment where children
feel safe, secure, respected and recognized as individuals. The school
believes that the relationship between the preschool-aged children and
their parents is the single most important part of their lives. It
therefore asks that parents volunteer in the classroom approximately
once a month and help in the administration of the school as well.
ANS is located in Dorchester, Boston's oldest and largest neighborhood.
Conveniently located on Ashmont Hill, within walking distance from the
T (Ashmont Station) and close to Milton and Quincy. Facilities include
a spac ious indoor play area with a wide variety of materials and a
fully equipped outdoor play yard. The school is licensed by the
Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), and
accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young
Children (NAEYC).
ANS follows the Boston Public School calendar. The regular school day
is 8:30-3:00, with early drop-off and extended day options available.
