The Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy is hiring a Prevention Program Coordinator.

Founded in 1979, the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy provides
statewide leadership to prevent adolescent pregnancy and to promote
quality services for pregnant and parenting teens and their children
through policy analysis, education, research and advocacy.

The Prevention Program Coordinator will provide information, training,
and technical assistance to youth-serving professionals in communities
with high teen birth rates among Latino youth to assist them in
designing, implementing, and evaluating science-based teen pregnancy,
STI and HIV prevention strategies as part of a national project funded
by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Responsibilities will include: ? Working collaboratively with staff of
state agencies to support schools and communities in partnering to
address teen pregnancy, HIV, and STI prevention, particularly among
Latino youth;

? Disseminating information about effective programs and strategies;

? Providing technical assistance to communities to use the PSBA-GTO
(Promoting Science Based Approaches: Getting To Outcomes) process to
plan, evaluate, and implement programs;

? Training stakeholders in how to obtain support from their communities for implementing science-based prevention strategies;

? Developing content for Alliance print and Internet-based publications
including the Alliance Advocate semi-annual newsletter, Teens and Sex
in Massachusetts annual report, monthly eNews, and website;

? Assisting with the Partners in Prevention project evaluation; and

? Responding to requests for information and technical assistance from the general public.

Qualifications

? Bachelor degree (masters preferred) in public health, social work,
education, public policy, or a related discipline. The Alliance will
consider candidates with equivalent work experience.

? 2-4 years professional experience in prevention programming (teen
pregnancy, substance abuse, etc.) in communities with high percentages
of Latino youth.

? Substantial knowledge of issues related to teen pregnancy prevention
and/or youth development, including process and impact (outcomes)
evaluation.

? Experience working in a school environment is preferred but not required.

? Excellent communication skills and experience writing and speaking to diverse audiences.

? Demonstrated training and facilitation skills.

? Willingness to travel both in-state and out-of-state.
