Bowdoin Street Health
Center in Dorchester
is seeking a Community Health Specialist (CHS) to join our community health
team and work with patients, residents and health center staff. The CHS will
work on initiatives including, but not limited to, violence prevention, street
group development, improving community infrastructure to support healthy
lifestyles, and other community identified health issues.  This is a challenging and exciting position
for a seasoned organizer in a multi-cultural community.

A Bachelor’s Degree is required. A master’s degree in Public
Health or Community Development is preferred. 3-5 years of community organizing
experience a plus. Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and
professionalism to interact with a diverse community, patient population,
clinicians and staff. The candidate should also demonstrate a sensitivity and
awareness of community needs and clinical care delivery and their
inter-relationship.
