Eliot Square to Franklin Park Bike Ride | POSTPONED

On Thursday, June 7, there will be a bike tour that runs from Eliot Square to Franklin Park. The event will be from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Helmets are required! Tickets will be $10, with a rain date for Friday, June 8.

Franklin Park Paths & Entrances Meeting | April 30

On Monday, April 30th 6:30-8pm at the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse, The Boston Parks Dept will report to the community on plans to restore paths and make entrance improvements over the coming two years. At the first meeting several weeks ago, park users identified problem areas and sought-after changes. Large community participation on April 30th will help narrow priorities and make sure that the city's plans reflect the community’s interests. >> Read More

Free Sports Safety Clinic | April 24

The Boston Public Health Commission along with the Boston Public Parks & Recreation Department and Safe Kids Worldwide are putting on a Free Sports Safety Clinic at Franklin Park (1 Circuit Drive, Dorchester, MA) on the 24th of April from 6:30PM to 8:00PM. This event, aimed towards parents and coaches, will have panelists present to share tips on sports safety and concussions. Participants will have an opportunity to learn how to properly wear and fit spring sport helmets, watch an Impact neurological baseline assessment demonstration, and try concussion goggles that simulate what it’s like to have a concussion.

Mouth guards will be given to the first 50 registrants and dinner will be provided!  There will also be great raffle giveaways. Those interested in joining can RSVP at 617-534-5197.

Winter Woods Walk March 10

On Saturday, March 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., have local experts guide you through a walk in the woods! Learn to identify trees through bark and twig characteristics to investigate the urban ecology of Franklin Park. Meet at Valley Gates parking lot, which can be found midway along Circuit Drive, next to Pierpont Road. Franklin Park Kid's Winter Fest Feb. 23

On Thursday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. join in on fun for kids at the Kids' Franklin Park Winter Festival! The Festival will provide hours of family fun during February school vacation week with both indoor and outdoor activities and entertainment! Weather permitting there will be sledding, a demonstration by the Boston Park Rangers Mounted Unit, a marionette puppet show, face painting, arts and crafts, games, and even a Critter Exhibit featuring wildlife native to Massachusetts! There will also be a screening of "Cool Runnings" the inspiring true story of the first Jamaican bobsled team to make it into the Winter Olympics, in celebration of the winter season. The Boston Parks Department will provide popcorn at the clubhouse. Attendees should plan on packing a lunch for the afternoon. Franklin Park Winter Festival Feb. 4

The Franklin Park Coalition will be hosting a Winter Snow Festival on Saturday, February 4th! The festival will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sign in at the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse, 1 Circuit Drive, Dorchester, MA and spend the afternoon sledding, snowshoeing, building snowpeople, and tracking animal prints in the snow! Do you have cross country skis? A guided tour via skis will begin at 1:30. When the snow gets to be chilly, warm up with hot chocolate and games in the clubhouse! Franklin Park New Year's Day Walk Jan. 1

The Franklin Park Coalition invites you to their annual New Year's Day Walk! Bring in the new year with a brisk walk through Franklin Park and start the year right. The walk will be on Sunday, January 1st, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Meet at the Golf Clubhouse, 1 Circuit Drive in Dorchester. Dress for the weather - the walk will happen on a paved and plowed path, no matter the weather! To RSVP, click here.

Rake Leaves at Franklin Park Nov. 19

Join Franklin Park neighbors and volunteers on a crisp fall day to rake leaves and spruce the park up just before winter! Feel free to bring your favorite gloves or an extra rake. Halloween Night Prowl Oct. 28

Have a spooky night at Franklin Park! On Friday, October 28th, Franklin Park will be hosting its annual Halloween Night Prowl. See the beautiful landscape the park in darkness, and watch things get a little frightening at night. No flashlights allowed! Only the light of the moon will guide you as you search for a jack-o-lantern. Meet at Valley Gates Parking Lot, and make sure to RSVP - space is limited. Brew at the Zoo, Oct. 1

Don’t miss the Second Annual Brew at the Zoo to be held at Franklin Park Zoo on Saturday, October 1 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. To order tickets, please call 617-989-2012 or visit the website http://www.zoonewengland.org/page.aspx?pid=581. Brew at the Zoo tickets cost $50. 

Brew at the Zoo is a “beer tasting” event that features stations hosted by local breweries as well as an opportunity to stroll among the animals in the signature Tropical Forest, which is home to gorillas, lemurs, and many other species. Participating vendors include Berkshire Brewing Company, Blue Hills Brewery, Clown Shoes Beer, Greenvale Vineyards, John Harvard's Brew House, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Long Trail Brewing Company, Narragansett Beer, Peak Organic Brewing Company, Samuel Adams and Watch City Brewing Co. Brew at the Zoo will also feature musical entertainment.
