FREE Lay Breast Health Adviser Training | Aug. 6

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Dana-Farber’s Mammography Van will be hosting a FREE Lay Breast Health Adviser training event. The training course will provide the foundation for participants to serve as well informed breast health advocates in their local communities. Topics covered include: cancer basics, breast cancer screening exams, communication techniques, and how to develop individualized community outreach plans.

INVISIBLE: Imprints of Racism | Jul. 30

Dorchester residents Ronnie Thomas, Makersin Previlus, Darnell Brown and Tu Phan will perform in INVISIBLE: IMPRINTS OF RACISM, a dance/spoken word event held at Franklin Field in Dorchester this week featuring dancers from Anna Myer and Dancers and Be Heard World. The event is free and open to the public.

Trap Community Clean Up | Jul. 30

WE HUSTLE HARD FOR OUR COMMUNITIES. OUR STREETS. OUR HEALTH.

We Are The Ones will be holding a community clean-up in the Codman Sq area (starting in front of the McDonalds). As members of the Boston community, they find it urgent to directly engage with our Black and Latino residents from the Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan area. Please join them on a day of sharing love and building with one another!

Sewing Classes

Learn basic sewing skills and learn a life skill!

  • Learn basic sewing and sewing machine basics
  • Bring your own machine or use class machine
  • Learn how to choose the correct fabrics

The class projects are lined tote bag or a 48" x 48" Quilt

Children: ages 9-14, the fee is $75, materials included, 4 classes in 2 hour sessions!

11th Annual "Flight of the Angels" Motorcycle Run | Aug. 14

Motorcycle ride to benefit Cops for Kids with Cancer. Start at Florian Hall, Dorchester and enjoy a scenic, escorted ride thorough South Shore. Finish at the Back Raspberry Pub in Plymouth. Post-ride food, music and fun at the Black Raspberry Pub!

First 100 participants get a T-shirt!!!!!!

Anyone Can Be A Hero - Free Naloxone Training | March 2, 2017
